A former USA Today reporter covering top news stories including the O.J. Simpson murder trial, Sally provides senior counsel to clients in effectively communicating complex issues and business strategies to the media. Sally’s media expertise is showcased in her first book, Media Training 101, by Wiley publishing company.
Before founding her consulting group, SA Stewart Communications, in 2003, Sally was a Vice President at two major public relations agencies, Edelman Public Relations and APCO Worldwide, where she led and supported numerous accounts, including SKECHERS USA and Jenny Craig, Inc. She secured numerous positive stories for her clients, including stories published in and/or televised on Forbes, The New York Times, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, CNBC, The Today Show, Fox News Channel and Money magazine.
Sally previously was Vice President, Public Relations for InternetConnect, a broadband computer networking company, developing and implementing all internal and external corporate communications. Before joining InternetConnect, Sally was a Member of the Firm (partner) at Sitrick And Company, where she focused on media in support of investor relations objectives for Mag Instrument, Metabolife International and a variety of pre-IPO companies. Immediately upon concluding her journalism career, Sally was Director of Communications for Public Counsel Law Center, the nation’s largest pro bono public interest law firm.
A seasoned journalist who served as chief west coast news reporter for USA Today, some of Sally’s reporting highlights include covering the San Francisco and Los Angeles earthquakes, the Los Angeles civil unrest, the Rodney King beating trials and national political campaigns. While covering the O.J. Simpson trial for USA Today, Sally was a regular commentator on the case for CNN and KFAN Minneapolis. She also has been an opinion columnist for the Los Angeles Daily News, a freelance reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Company and a journalism teacher for the University of California, Los Angeles Extension Journalism Program.
A longtime resident of Santa Monica, Calif., Sally is a member of the Board of Creative Advisors for National Lampoon.
